Telehealth is the use of telecommunication technologies (eg: Skype, Go to Meeting) to deliver healthcare services and access to specialists care for patients in rural and remote areas. Telehealth consultations provide patients access to specialist health professionals with reliable support from clinicians including general practitioners (GPs) and nurses working in rural and remote areas.
Fees & Medicare
All telehealth appointments with Endocrinology Melbourne are bulk billed through Medicare for patient convenience.
- Not an admitted patient: and
- Is eligible for Medicare rebates: and
- Eligibility will be determined according to the (ASGC-RA) classifications; or
- a care recipient at an eligible Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF);
- or in an eligible Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS)

General Practitioners (GP’s), specialists, nurse practitioners, midwives, Aboriginal health workers or practice nurse must be present with the patient during the consultation.
All patient information including Referral, Medicare Number and relevant patient history must be faxed or emailed to Endocrinology Melbourne prior to the appointment.

Cancellation & Rescheduling
A minimum of 48 hours’ notices is required for all cancellations and rescheduling of appointments. Failure to do so may incur a fee.
