Fran is a Registered Nurse and Credentialed Diabetes Educator who has been working in the field of diabetes education since 1994. She has been established in private practice since 2007, now trading as Melbourne Diabetes Education & Support. Fran is a member of the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA), Chair of the Northern Metropolitan Melbourne Networking Group for Diabetes Educators and regular delegate at State and National Conferences.

Fran offers support and education to patients and their families at all stages along the continuum of diabetes, giving them the confidence to manage their diabetes for the long term. This includes those newly diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2, diabetes during pregnancy, or those with more complex needs such as for the commencement of insulin injection therapy, commencement of insulin pump therapy or continuous glucose monitoring.

Fran works closely beside the Endocrinologists and other allied health team members to provide optimal patient care. Dawn Pescod, RN CDE, joined Melbourne Diabetes Education & Support in 2016. Fran and Dawn accept referrals for patients with Type 1, Type 2, GDM and pre-diabetes.
