Fran is the Principle of Melbourne Diabetes Education & Support. She is a Registered Nurse and Credentialed Diabetes Educator who has been working in the field of diabetes education since 1994. Fran has worked in private practice since 2007. She is a member of the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA), Chair of the Northern Metropolitan Melbourne Networking Group for Diabetes Educators and regular delegate at State and National Conferences.

Fran offers support and education to patients and their families at all stages along the continuum of diabetes. This includes those newly diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2, diabetes during pregnancy, or those with more complex needs such as for the commencement of insulin injection therapy, commencement of insulin pump therapy or continuous glucose monitoring. She has a special interest in using technologies to help people manage their diabetes, and supporting them through their journey to achieve optimal long term health outcomes.

Fran works closely beside the Endocrinologists and other allied health team members to provide a high level of patient care. Dawn Pescod, RN CDE, joined Melbourne Diabetes Education & Support in 2016. Dawn’s background is in critical care and her excellent clinical skills are well regarded by patients and colleagues alike . Fran and Dawn accept referrals for patients with Type 1, Type 2, GDM and pre-diabetes.
