Dr Melissa Lee



Dr Melissa Lee graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2010. She completed specialist training in Endocrinology at St Vincent’s Hospital and Monash Hospital. Dr Lee currently works as an endocrinologist at St Vincent’s Hospital and Werribee Mercy Hospital.

Her clinical interest is in type 1 diabetes and novel diabetes technology including insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring and closed loop insulin delivery (artificial pancreas).

Dr Lee is currently completing a PhD through the University of Melbourne on optimising metabolic control for people living with type 1 diabetes and recurrent hypoglycemia, with a focus on novel technologies and closed loop insulin delivery. She is a recipient of the prestigious NHMRC postgraduate scholarship, co-funded by Diabetes Australia.

Dr Lee has published in a number of leading scientific journals, and presented her work at various national and international meetings. She is appointed as an Education Fellow on the Australian Diabetes Society Council.

Dr Lee welcomes referrals in all aspects of diabetes and endocrinology including diabetes mellitus, gestational diabetes, thyroid disorders and metabolic bone disease. She has a special interest in Type 1 Diabetes and is experienced in the use of diabetes technology including insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring.
