Dr Mardiana Lee trained in Nephrology at the Austin and the Royal Melbourne hospitals and became a fellow of the RACP in 2015. She is a Consultant Nephrologist at Austin Health, providing inpatient nephrology service and outpatient care through the General Nephrology Clinics.
Dr Lee completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2021, where her research focused on the role of metabolism in the development of renal fibrosis. She was awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Postgraduate Scholarship and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) Jacquot NHMRC Award for Excellence. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed scientific journals and continues to pursue translational research in polycystic kidney disease and obesity-related kidney disease.
In addition to her clinical and research roles, Dr Lee is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, where she is actively involved in the education and supervision of higher degree research students, medical students, and junior doctors.
Dr Lee welcomes referrals for the comprehensive assessment and management of all aspects of adult kidney disease, including diabetic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, chronic kidney disease at all stages, polycystic kidney disease, hypertension, acute kidney injury, electrolyte disorders, and kidney transplantation.
